# How We Source Ethically

Ethical sourcing isn't just a buzzword at Roastair — it's the foundation of everything we do. Here's how we ensure every bean in your cup has been sourced responsibly.

## Direct Relationships

We buy directly from farmers, not through commodity markets or brokers. This means we know exactly where our coffee comes from and who grew it.

## Fair Pricing

We pay 40-60% above Fairtrade minimum prices. This isn't charity — it's recognition that quality coffee requires investment in farming practices, equipment, and labour.

## Transparency

We publish the price we pay for each lot on our website. We believe transparency builds trust with both our farmers and our customers.

## Long-Term Commitments

We sign multi-year purchase agreements with our partner farms. This gives farmers the financial security to invest in quality improvements and sustainable practices.

## Annual Visits

Maria visits every origin at least once a year. These trips aren't just about cupping — they're about maintaining genuine relationships and understanding the challenges our partners face.
