# Single Origin vs Blend: What's the Difference?

Walk into any specialty coffee shop and youll see bags labelled single origin and blend. But what does that actually mean, and which should you choose?

## Single Origin

Single origin coffee comes from one specific region, farm, or lot. It showcases the unique terroir — the soil, climate, altitude, and processing method of that particular place. Single origins tend to have more distinctive, complex flavour profiles.

## Blends

A blend combines beans from multiple origins to create a balanced, consistent flavour profile. Roasters craft blends to achieve a specific taste — often aiming for a well-rounded cup that works across brewing methods.

## Which Should You Choose?

There is no right answer. If you enjoy exploring different flavour profiles and appreciate acidity and complexity, single origins are for you. If you prefer a reliable, balanced cup — especially for espresso or milk-based drinks — a blend is the way to go.

At Roastair, we love both. Our single origins rotate seasonally, while our blends are designed for everyday drinking.
